general questions
The Galactic Market is an online, in-character, market area for the players of the Star Wars Combine.
It is a place where players may trade, auction or sell their goods, be they ships, vehicles, raw materials or any other item within the Combine.
The Galactic Market is being maintained by Dantius Storm, a combine player.
The Galactic Market is not controlled by the Combine Admins.
There is an NPC market which you can currently buy entities directly from in game, though these prices are set depending on the rules prices and other key factors, such as distance away from the entity.
The Galactic Market is not an official Combine web site.
It is considered a community web site, meaning that Combine members may be directed to it, but the Combine staff provide no support for it.

accounts
Your account is linked to your character.
Therefore, when your character dies you no longer have access to your account.
We do not change names of current accounts, you'll need to register a new one for your new character.
The Galactic Market charges no fees for its use, we just ask that you tell your friends and fellow players about us.
Accounts are available to all players of the Star Wars Combine who are not banned.
Furthermore, factions of the Combine may also open a special faction account with added features.
In order to protect your privacy, passwords are encrypted one-way with added 'salts', meaning that passwords cannot be stolen from the database.
Extensive logging and notification features provide the final protection layer which keeps you, and your details safe.
All players of the Combine are welcome to use the Galactic Market's services.
However, the use of these services is a privilege, not a right.
Players deemed anti-social or those who otherwise are breaking rules are subject to being banned from all of the Galactic Market's services.
Bans are permanent and not subject to discussion.
web services
Web services allow us to pass queries to the Combine's database and get strictly controlled answers back.
Web services are used primarily in account authentication.
For example, when you register an account, the Galactic Market will check whether that account exists in the Combine, and whether it should have access to the services it requested.
Any web service needs to be approved by the Combine administration.
The instructions for each web service are stored on the Combine server, meaning that only authorised persons may add or alter web services.
As outlined above, web services help us prevent fraudulent activity on the Market by making sure that those who use our services are rightly able to do so.
Web services secure the trading experience because you know you are dealing with a real person, who can be tracked down if things go awry.
